I’m Sara, a qualified counsellor in Southampton and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk).
I love seeing the change in people as they progress through counselling and I am privileged to be a part of that progress.
I have worked for 19 years as airline cabin crew (a role which I continue on a part time basis) and also for the last 10 years (both voluntary and paid) in more specific helping/advice and counselling roles, working with people of many ages and backgrounds.
My journey with counselling began with working voluntarily as a Community Support Worker with Victim Support, helping victims of crime and anti social behaviour. This confirmed to me that I wanted to help and make a change in people’s lives and so I began on the path that led me to where I am today.
I have helped both young people and adults covering many topics including counselling for anxiety, self harm, bereavement, family relationships, low self esteem, suicidal thoughts, stress, career changes and more. This as well as my own personal experiences of bereavement, low mood, anxiety and low self esteem have helped me to broaden my knowledge and develop my understanding of different issues.
I qualified with a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and continue to develop my skills through various training.
In direct response to Covid-19 I have completed online training specifically regarding telephone and online sessions and continue to update my knowledge and skills on this.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
